- at least 200 hours, to include 25 hours flight by night, must be cross country or oversea flying;
- (Note. 100 hours cross-country or oversea flying to include 25 hours flight by night, in additional to 200 hours as second pilot, will be accepted in lieu of the above- paragraph.)

Half the total flying experience as second pilot may be accepted if it has been accumulated in aero-planes required by the Myanmar Aircraft Rules to carry more than one pilot or in military aero-planes which are normally flown with more than one pilot.
Time of Pilot-in-Charge Under Supervision
- A maximum of 100 hours of the requirement of 250 hours pilot-in-charge time specified in the paragraph 1.1 may be obtained whilst acting as co pilot, performing, under the supervision of the pilot-in- charge , the duties and functions of a pilot-in-charge. For this purpose 2 hours as pilot-in-charge under supervision will count as 1 hour pilot-in- charge time (see paragraph-3)
Claiming Time Under Supervision
- Time as pilot-in-charge under supervision should be entered in the pilot’s log book in the pilot-in-charge column and marked P.1(S). Each entry must be signed by the pilot supervising the flight. Applicants who wish to claim pilot-in-charge under supervision experience toward the requirement for the grant of a licence should submit their flying log books together with an extract showing the flights concerned. The extract must be certified by the applicant’s chief pilot, or flight or line captain.
Period for Completion of flying Experience
- To qualify for the grant of a licence, the experience referred to in paragraph (1) above must be completed by the end of the period allowed to the applicant for the completion of the technical examinations.
Type Ratings
- To retain a type in Group 1 of the aircraft rating of the licence, the 6 hours during six months must be as pilot-in-charge . In addition, one flight as pilot-in-charge, including the landing and take-off, must be done in each type ( excepting types on the simple aircraft list), within the twelve months immediately preceding the date of application for renewal.
- When the licence contains ratings only in Group 2, the 6 hours during six months may be as second pilot and take-offs and landings made under supervision may be counted.
- For the purpose of the requirements specified in sub-para 5.1, time actually spent by a co pilot in flying the aircraft may be accepted in lieu of pilot-in-charge time. Co pilots who wish to retain Group 1 ratings in their licences should submit evidence, certified by the aircraft captain, showing that they have fulfilled the conditions.
- In cases where a pilot has had experience in a “simple type “ of aero-plane, the type may be retained in Group 1 of the aircraft irrespective of the amount of recent flying done in the type.
- Applicants for renewal of a licence or type rating who are unable to submit satisfactory evidence for the above recent experience requirements may be required to undergo all or any part of the practical flying tests and technical examinations specified for the grant or extension of a licence as may be appropriate.
Extension of Licence (Aeroplanes)
- An applicant who applies for a licence to be extended by the inclusion of an additional type rating will be required to pass the examination in Airframes and Engines ( specific Type ), and Performance if applicable, and to submit evidence that he has completed the flying test specified.
