A Flesh-up

  • Myanmar does not issue flight engineer licences.

  • Myanmar does not issue air traffic controller, flight operation officer and aeronautical station operator licences.

  • Twelve months for the private pilot licence regardless of age, Six months for the commercial Airline transport pilot licence regardless of age.

  • Of the 15 hours as pilot-in-charge, not less than 3 hours must have been carried out on cross country flights within the six months immediately preceding the date of application for the licence.

  • At least 10 hours flying which has been carried out during the six months immediately preceding the date of application for the licence.

  • At least 10 hours night flying, during which the applicant must have carried out 10 take off and 10 landings without assistant from any other person on board the aircraft.

  • Air Traffic Controller Licence is not issued in Myanmar. Duties are performed by State employees meeting Annex 1 standard.

  • Flight operations dispatcher officer licence is not issued in Myanmar.

  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licenses are equivalent to ICAO type II Maintenance License. Also equivalent to BCAR licensing system. At present Technical Division is in the process of converting to EASA B1 and B2 type license.

  • Myanmar has only one class of Medical Assessment, same as Class I Medical Assessment.

  • The Commercial Pilot’s Licence - CPL

  • The Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence - ATPL

  • The Instrument Rating - IR
